The second game was a tight affair especially in the first half where there were few chances for either side and only a single Hormead goal separated the two teams at half time.
The attitude shown by the Hornets in the first game was replicated by the Hurricanes and they slowly began to apply the pressure. Will continued his recent good form and with the assistance of Kane in the first half and Somerset in the second half continually probed and pushed the Hurricanes forward.
It was only a matter of time as to when the equaliser would come and when it did, what an equaliser it was. After some determined work Joel broke from the midfield and from outside the box hit a right foot thunderbolt into the top corner.
Hitchin were now dominant in all departments and for the second week running Terry and Ferdinand sorry Patrick and Max were imperious in defence, providing a solid shield in front of their goalkeeper and quickly turning defence into attack. Sam Hart worked tirelessly up front and it was great for the coaching staff to see his desire not only to get forward but also to track back and assist the midfield and defence. Sam got his deserved reward with two goals the second of which was all his own doing - after hustling the Hormead defence and winning the ball he then neatly slotted home past the despairing dive of the goalkeeper. An excellent all round performance with this time the deserved result.
