A cold morning saw Hitchin finally arrive at Arlesey to try and get back to winning ways. The Hurricanes started positively with Will and Joel probing from midfield trying to get forward and support the intelligent running of Somerset. The Hurricanes forced several early corners and their dominance was rewarded when Somerset volleyed home from Joel’s in-swinging corner.
Kane provided a fine shield in front of Max and Kai in defence and the only first half effort on goal from Arlesey saw Sam make a fine save clawing the ball off of the goal line.
The second half was more closely contested with Arlesey creating some early chances but when the excellent defence of Max and Kai was breached, Sam pulled off a couple of world class saves.
The Hurricanes weathered the early second half storm and started to re-impose themselves on the game and once Somerset scored his and Hitchin’s second goal with a neat turn and shot, after an inch perfect through ball from Will, the result was never in doubt.
