The Hornets recorded Hitchin’s biggest win of the season in what turned out to be the most one sided game of the season.
After a good early save from Ryan and an early injury requiring the substitution of Sam Hen for Samuel, Hitchin came to life with Sam Hart scoring two quick goals the first of which was a fine one on one run with a fierce drive into the corner past the despairing Arlesey ‘keeper. Not content with scoring Sam Hart turned provider, floating in a corner which Vinay converted with a deft flick.
At three – nil at half time the result was never in doubt and with the new defensive pairing of Jonathan and Oliver keeping Arlesey very quiet and the midfield of Sam Hen, James and Samuel (re-appearing after injury) hustling and probing, it was left to the deadly strike duo of Sam Hart and Vinay to fight for the match ball.
Vinay completed his hat-trick but Sam Hart eventually came out on top scoring 5 (each with a different goal celebration), the third of which was direct from a corner and the fourth from a well worked Jonathan free kick.
Squad: Ryan, Oliver, Jonathan, Samuel, James, Vinay, Sam Hart Sub: Sam Hen
